Formed in 2006 and based on Oldham St, Manchester’s Nucleus of Art and Creativity, Fine Lines are a five piece band who have soaked up their teenage summers in Ibiza, 90’s Britpop and Rock ‘N’ Roll gigs and festivals and these experiences have drawn them together with a view to bringing fresh ideas for making music. They combine a ‘no rules’ attitude with a working honesty that can only be established by mutual respect, an evil sense of humour and a burning desire to make some of the greatest records of all time. Each member has justified their presence by being part of a cohesive whole. They are making and creating for the love of it with no formula just self-belief and are ready to express their art in the form of some wonderfully unique songs.
Their recent live album ‘Monday Nights’ was a bold and unusual step in trying to capture the sound of their rehearsal room. The tracks on it were a mish mash of songs, going in very differing directions but accomplishing this album has helped them refine the thread of coherence and given them the steady growth which has produced the songs they bring to the stage now.
Combine an explosive rhythm section, with a guitarist of sure to be of legendary proportions, a keyboard player with a natural instinct for great melodies and a singer with a style and aggression all of his own and you get Fine Lines.
